More delivery services now available
We know that many of you have been impacted by the ongoing industrial action by postal workers. The continuing action, which has recently escalated and now affects collections, deliveries and distribution services - the part that carries the mail from our local sorting office to yours - means that backlogs are growing larger and longer around the country. This will vary depending on area, and from day to day.
Two new alternative services
As a result, we are now offering a choice of alternative tracked delivery services using "Small Parcel" services, for sim card orders (including Gold Number Sim Cards), as follows:
- Standard Delivery - 2-4 working days, by Evri - £2
- This service offers an approximate delivery estimate of 2 to 4 working days and is offered as an alternative to the free Royal Mail Economy option, or the 1st Class Tracked option. There is a small fee of £2, which we have subsidised, but you will get your order much sooner in most cases.
- Express Delivery - 1-3 working days, by DPD - £5.50
- This service offers an alternative to both the Royal Mail 1st Class and Special Delivery services, and while this does not necessarily guarantee next day delivery, is cheaper than Special Delivery.
We will be using these services for ALL other items (for example, phones and accessories), during the course of the industrial action by Royal Mail staff.
It is important to remember that other carriers are likely to be much busier than usual due to the extra workload and the fact that this time of the year, in the run up to the Christmas period, is the busiest time for carriers. Please allow at least 7 working days before enquiring about delivery.
